Offshore Wind Funding Deadline Approaches for Nova Scotia Coastal Communities
NOVA SCOTIA — Indigenous and coastal communities interested in participating in discussions around Atlantic Canada’s emerging offshore wind industry have one week remaining to apply for a federal funding program.
Natural Resources Canada’s Offshore Wind Predevelopment Program is accepting its second round of community grant proposals until September 21 or until available funding is allocated.
Eligible applicants can receive up to $10,000 per fiscal year to support engagement activities related to offshore wind development.
The program focuses on potential offshore wind development off Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.
The federal government says community engagement and scientific data collection are intended to help establish the groundwork for responsible development of an Atlantic Canadian offshore wind industry.
