Police operations in Windermere and North Kentville lead to arrests
KENTVILLE – Several people were arrested during police operations in Kings County, according to an RCMP statement published by The Valley Eye.
Officers went to a Cleveland Road residence in Windermere on September 14 after learning that a man wanted on a warrant was there. Police say Joel Gibson initially refused to leave, then was arrested after officers used an extended-range impact weapon.
Two other people were arrested at the property and later released.
A subsequent search in North Kentville uncovered a replica firearm, ammunition, cocaine and other weapons, police said. Another person was arrested and released pending a court appearance.
Gibson appeared in Kentville Provincial Court September 15. Police said he remained in custody. The allegations have not been proven in court.
