Nova Scotia RCMP to increase enforcement as part of national road safety campaign over Thanksgiving weekend
Nova Scotia RCMP will increase its enforcement of impaired, distracted, aggressive and fatigued driving, along with seatbelt use, as part of a national traffic safety campaign over Thanksgiving weekend.
Operation Impact, led by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, combines education, awareness and enforcement to encourage safe driving behaviours and help reduce preventable collisions on the country’s roads.
“Whether you’re travelling across the province or just down the road this Thanksgiving weekend, simple choices behind the wheel can make a big difference,” said Sgt. Wes Blair, Nova Scotia RCMP Traffic Services, in a press release.
“Drive sober, slow down, put distractions away, stay focused, and buckle up.”
Road safety is a shared responsibility. By making safe choices and staying alert, road users can help prevent collisions and protect themselves, their passengers and others who share Nova Scotia’s roads.
