TIMBERLEA — RCMP are asking for the public’s help as investigators look into an arson and an attempted arson in Timberlea involving what police say were Molotov cocktails.
The first incident happened early September 5 at a home in the 400 block of Marketway Lane. Police say a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the residence and the home was fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
Two days later, police returned to the same area following another suspicious incident. Investigators say a man was seen leaving a residence with a burning cloth before dropping it and fleeing. A container with an accelerant was also reportedly found in the yard.
Police are looking for information about a small blue vehicle seen leaving the area September 5, as well as a man seen with a grey Honda Civic on September 7. The investigation remains ongoing.
