Six new vehicles funded for northern Nova Scotia transit
Community transportation providers in Colchester and Cumberland counties will receive more than $1.3 million to purchase six vehicles.
Colchester Transportation Co-operative will add two vans and two accessible minibuses. Cumberland County Transportation Services will purchase a hybrid vehicle and a minibus.
The funding includes approximately $270,000 from Nova Scotia and just over $1.08 million from the federal government. The operators provide transportation in rural communities where conventional fixed-route service may not meet residents’ needs.
The announcement does not give delivery dates for the vehicles.
