Two Face Firearms Charges Following Halifax Police Operation
Two people face firearms charges after Halifax Regional Police searched a home near the Halifax Dockyard on Thursday.
Police executed a search warrant at an Adams Avenue residence at about 10 a.m. The operation closed several nearby streets for more than half the day.
A 33-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested without incident. Police reported seizing a loaded firearm and ammunition.
Both face charges related to unauthorized possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm, unsafe storage and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The man faces additional allegations of violating firearm prohibitions and a probation order.
The charges have not been proven in court.
